The 3rd installment of Large On The Lawn sees The Parlotones, GoodLuck and The Kiffness take over the stage at Golden Harvest Park in Randburg on Sunday the 30th of April.
Put simply, The Parlotones are one of South Africa’s biggest selling rock acts ever with 600,000+ albums sales worldwide. Double Platinum, Platinum and Gold Records saturate the band’s discography. Their dedication and commitment to their music has seen them enjoy a career that has spanned over 15 years, achieved multi-platinum selling status and accumulated numerous awards. The band have toured extensively internationally since 2007 across the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and North America. They have also toured in South America, Canada, Australia, Japan, Russia and have shared the stage with Coldplay, Starsailor, Snow Patrol, Live, Ash, Blue October, Violent Femmes, Imagine Dragons, Maximo Park and many more. Their live concert circuit has included festivals like T in the Park, V Fest, St Gallen Switzerland, SXSW, Deluna Fest, Canadian Music Week, Midem and more. Fans can look forward to hearing a selection of their biggest hits such as Push Me To The Floor , Life Design, Should We Fight Back, I’m Only Human, Giant Mistake, Sleepwalker, and I’ll Be There.
“Large on the Lawn is another great outdoor concert series that we are super looking forward to being a part of.” says Kahn Morbee. “A day out on the lawn vibe and music – I mean who wouldn’t love that”
GoodLuck are SA’s award-winning live electronic band, who have achieved an astonishing 8 radio #1 charting hits in just 4 years. Known for their incredible live show, pushing the boundaries of live electronic performance with their use of drum machines, synthesisers, electronic percussion, saxophone and vocals. GoodLuck’s latest local and recently international release ‘I’ve Been Thinking about You’ has been a smash hit sensation across South Africa hitting the #1 spot on various radio charts. The band have just signed their first global record deal with Ultra Music Records in the US and Sony B1 Recordings in Germany joining some of the world’s dance music elite alongside Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Deadmau5, Benny Benassi, KYGO to name a few.
“It’s been almost 6 months since our last show in Joburg and we’re super excited to be back for ‘Large On The Lawn’ on 30 April. Outdoor concerts in beautiful environments is what we are all about – GoodLuck has tons of new music and new special FX which we’re very excited to be bringing to the Joburg audience for the first time… One thing’s for sure, this is going to be a concert to remember!”
The Kiffness makes jazzy, groovy & uplifting house music and are fast becoming one of South Africa’s favourite live electronic acts. From the beginning of 2013, they’ve had great success on local radio stations with 6 songs already playlisted & all songs reaching top 10 status in the top 40 charts. Saxophone & synth extraordinaire Clem Carr joined The Kiffness mid-2014. Before joining forces with Dave on stage, Clem had played a major role behind the scenes in co-writing two of The Kiffness’ most successful singles to date – ‘Where Are You Going?’ & ‘Find A Way’. What sets The Kiffness apart from most electronic acts is their tangible instrumental talent. What’s more is that they are great performers, so crowds can expect nothing short of a huge vibe.
Dave from The Kiffness is excited for the event and to quote him “It’s gonna be nice”. That’s pretty Kiff.
